Project Summary

Marine biodiversity plays a critical role in supporting ecosystem health and the livelihoods of coastal communities across APEC member economies. However, rising sea surface temperatures and climate-related impacts have necessitated the development of innovative tools like ARMS, which provide standardized and non-destructive methods for monitoring cryptofauna.

To address this need, the event will bring together experts in ARMS management, morphology classification, and genetic analysis for a focused seminar in April 2025. This will enable participants from APEC member economies to deepen their understanding of ARMS, explore its practical applications, and foster collaboration to enhance regional efforts in monitoring marine biodiversity changes to respond to the growing challenges posed by environmental changes affecting marine ecosystems.
